Yarmouk University and Indonesian Ambassador Discuss Boosting Academic Ties

Irbid: President of Yarmouk University, Malek Alsharairi, and Indonesia's Ambassador to Jordan, Ade Padmo Sarwono, discussed ways to strengthen scientific and cultural cooperation between Yarmouk and higher education institutions in Indonesia.

According to Jordan News Agency, during his meeting with the Indonesian ambassador and Rector of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Amany Lubis, Alsharairi highlighted Yarmouk University's commitment to providing an educational environment conducive to international students and supporting their academic pursuits and involvement in university activities.

Alsharairi expressed the university's intent to broaden its collaborations with Indonesian universities, focusing on student and faculty exchanges to foster educational and research cooperation.

The Indonesian ambassador praised Yarmouk University's support for Indonesian students, particularly in Sharia and Arabic language studies, and noted that many Yarmouk graduates in Indonesia occupy leadership roles, underscoring the university's educational impact.

During the visit, the ambassador and his delegation participated in the "Irbid 2026 - IRBID EXPO" at Al-Kindi Auditorium in the Faculty of Arts. The exhibition is designed to promote cultural and intellectual exchange between Jordan and Indonesia, offering Indonesian students a platform to showcase their culture and arts.

The exhibition included student works in painting, sculpture, and handicrafts, alongside a panel discussion on culture, education, and arts, featuring Prof. Amany Lubis and Indonesian lecturer Professor Rocky Gerung.
