Amman: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), through its ShareTheMeal app, has collaborated with Careem, a prominent multi-service app in the Middle East, to initiate a donation campaign across Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. This campaign allows Careem users to directly support WFP’s emergency food assistance efforts in Gaza and the West Bank via the Careem app.
According to EMM, WFP is delivering essential food aid in Gaza amidst growing security concerns, limited access, and increasing desperation. Recent assessments indicate that nearly one in three individuals are experiencing extended periods without food, escalating the risk to lives. Since May 21, WFP has sent multiple aid convoys, comprising over 1,200 trucks, transporting 18,247 metric tons of food into Gaza.
Careem’s in-app donations platform, Right Click, enables users to directly contribute to WFP’s emergency response. Donations are allocated to delivering wheat flour, hot meals, and nutrition supplements to communities in Gaza and the West Bank, where WFP aims to assist over 1.5 million people this year.
In 2025 alone, Careem has facilitated donations exceeding $200,000 for various causes, including emergency relief and education support, showcasing the commitment of Careem customers to creating an impact through the app.
WFP’s campaign is now active on Careem’s donations platform Right Click in Jordan and the UAE. Users can download the latest version of the Careem app on iOS or Android to donate and contribute to the cause.
