Amman: The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Monday organized a technical workshop aimed at discussing the implementation mechanisms of the information technology roadmap within the water sector. This initiative was supported by the U.S. Embassy in Amman and involved participation from relevant institutions, sector partners, and water sector staff.
According to Jordan News Agency, Secretary-General of the Water Authority, Sufyan Bataineh, emphasized that the workshop is part of ongoing efforts to promote digital transformation, enhance institutional efficiency, and improve service quality for citizens. Bataineh highlighted that digital transformation has evolved from merely a supporting function to a key driver of sector performance.
Bataineh further explained that the information technology roadmap is in alignment with the National Water Strategy (2023-2040) and the Economic Modernization Vision. These strategies are rooted in national frameworks for digital transformation and cybersecurity. He noted that the sector is transitioning from the stages of assessment and planning to actual implementation.
The discussions held during the workshop centered on aligning visions, defining roles and responsibilities among stakeholders, setting priorities for implementation, and developing practical digital projects to enhance governance and system integration.
Additionally, the workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange and institutional coordination, aimed at optimizing the use of technical resources and ensuring alignment with international best practices.
