Water authority, USAID sign agreement to rehabilitate Tafila water networks, 1st, final add

He added that the agreement includes preparing a plan to assess the water situation in Tafileh, starting a hydraulic study for all areas, and preparing detailed studies for all areas of the governorate with the aim of reducing water losses in them, as modern systems for operation and maintenance will be installed through monitoring devices (SCADA) to operate and monitor all water sources; thus shortening the time and effort.

Bataineh pointed out that the project includes building two water transmission lines of different lengths, modernizing sub-networks, replacing meters with new smart types, developing pumps and linking them to the monitoring system, which will contribute to reducing water losses in the networks, whether technical or administrative, and updating monitoring systems on these systems.

This, Bataineh added, will contribute to raising the effectiveness of the water supply, addressing losses in water sources, monitoring and protecting water sources, and achieving speedy response to effectively deal with complaints and network fractures.

During the signing of the agreement, Bataineh expressed the Ministry of Water’s gratitude and appreciation for the great support provided by the USAID to confront the water challenges that the Kingdom suffers from, especially in the water sector.
