Wall Street Market Update: Dow Jones Rises, Nasdaq and S&P 500 Decline

New York: The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged over 200 points on Tuesday, reaching 43,720 points just before market close. This notable increase highlights a positive shift in the blue-chip index amidst a mixed day for the U.S. stock market.

According to Jordan News Agency, the tech-heavy Nasdaq experienced a significant drop, falling more than 150 points to settle at 19,115 points. Similarly, the S and P 500 saw a decline of around 15 points, ending the day at 5,970 points. These declines in major indices suggest a cautious sentiment among investors, particularly in the technology sector.

In the commodities market, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices decreased, with the price per barrel falling to $69.11. This drop in oil prices may indicate shifts in supply and demand dynamics, impacting energy markets and related sectors.
