US condemns North Korea’s launch of two ballistic missiles

The US Tuesday condemned North Korea’s launch of two ballistic missiles, describing the move as a regional “threat” while renewing its offer to resort to diplomatic means to address differences.

According to the Washington Post, US State Department spokesman Ned Price said the test, the latest in a year that saw a series of missile tests, “violates many UN Security Council resolutions.”

“We believe it poses a threat to the region and the international community,” Price said, adding that the US is committed to defending South Korea and Japan.

He said Washington is “committed to a diplomatic approach,” calling North Korea to respond to diplomatic efforts.
