United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken Monday started a Mideast tour to meet with Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “solidify a ceasefire.”
The Washington Post reported Blinken is slated to visit Amman and Cairo to discuss the regional developments, especially in the Palestinian territories.
“At the request of President Biden, I am traveling to Jerusalem, Ramallah, Cairo, and Amman to meet with the parties to support their efforts to solidify a ceasefire. The United States has engaged in intensive diplomacy to bring an end to the hostilities and reduce tensions.” Blinken wrote on “Twitter.”
