Amman: A senior official at the University of Jordan Hospital was detained on Wednesday pending investigation into an alleged embezzlement case involving nearly JD1 million, according to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission.
According to Jordan News Agency, the commission's prosecutor ordered the detention of the head of subsidiary funds at the hospital for 15 days at Marka Reform and Rehabilitation Center. Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly embezzled close to JD1 million over several years.
The commission said the suspect had previously been referred to the public prosecution.
