Beirut: The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has declared its ongoing commitment to monitoring and reporting violations in southern Lebanon with impartiality. The peacekeeping mission emphasized its engagement with all relevant parties to prevent misunderstandings and conflict, in alignment with United Nations Resolution 1701.
According to Jordan News Agency, UNIFIL peacekeepers, originating from approximately 50 countries, are focused on fostering long-term stability in the region. The statement from UNIFIL highlighted their support for the Lebanese Army’s redeployment efforts and their role in facilitating humanitarian missions. Additionally, the peacekeeping force assists in the removal of unexploded ordnance and provides aid to displaced persons, underscoring their multifaceted approach to maintaining peace and security in southern Lebanon.
