Amman: The United Nations Security Council: is scheduled to hold an open briefing session on Wednesday to discuss the political and humanitarian situation in Syria, followed by closed consultations.
According to Jordan News Agency, the political briefing is expected to be delivered by Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Claudio Cordone. The session aims to address ongoing concerns and developments in the region, focusing on both the political dynamics and humanitarian needs of the Syrian population.
In addition to the political insights, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Joyce Msuya will present the humanitarian update. This update is anticipated to shed light on the current challenges faced by Syrians and the efforts needed to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the region. The closed consultations following the open briefing will allow Security Council members to discuss and deliberate on potential actions and responses.
