UN Human Rights Chief Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Gaza

Gaza: The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Trk, expressed his horror over the latest Israeli airstrikes and shelling in Gaza.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement on Tuesday, Trk said, “I am appalled by the Israeli airstrikes and shelling on Gaza last night, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds, according to the Ministry of Health in the territory. This will only add tragedy to tragedy.”

He emphasized that Israel’s use of additional military force will only worsen the suffering of the Palestinian people, who are already enduring catastrophic conditions.

“This nightmare must end immediately,” he urged, calling for the unconditional release of all arbitrarily detained individuals.

Trk stressed that the war must come to a definitive end, urging all influential parties to do everything possible to achieve peace and prevent further civilian suffering.
