UJ, Norwegian Embassy discuss cooperation horizons

University of Jordan (UJ) President, Dr. Nazir Obeidat, discussed on Sunday, with Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan, Espen Lindback, and the accompanying delegation, ways to activate cooperation aspects in the academic, scientific and cultural fields.

Speaking at the meeting, Obeidat lauded Norway’s support to vital sectors in Jordan, primarily in the health and renewable energy areas.

Lindback, for his part, referred to the “deep-rooted” Jordanian- Norwegian relations, stressing the importance of the recent visit of Norway’s King to Jordan in supporting and developing the bilaterla ties.

Obeidat also expressed hope to continue cooperation with the university in “potential” fields.

UJ’s Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) head, Ziad Eyadat, said the UJ is looking forward to “fruitful” cooperation with Norwegian universities in the fields of student, faculty and researcher exchange, as well as Arabic learning, environmental studies and climate change programs.
