The delegation called for providing international protection for the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem and the rest of Jerusalemites, who, on a daily basis, are exposed to settlers’ attacks under the protection and care of the Israeli occupation police, in order to force them to leave their homes.

Sentop also stressed the need to revive efforts aimed at consolidating the two-state solution, and hold Israel accountable for its crimes against the Palestinian people.

He called for intensifying efforts and strengthen relations between the Jordanian and Turkish parliaments, and coordinate joint efforts between the two sides to support the Palestinian cause, and to confront the occupation’s attacks on holy sites in Jerusalem.

Sentop denounced the recent transfer of Honduras’ embassy to Jerusalem, while explaining that the Turkish Parliament will host a conference on Jerusalem based on the statement issued by the Palestine Committee of the Union of Islamic Parliaments.

Sentop valued the efforts of the Parliamentary Assembly for Al Quds, headed by Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, in activating and coordinating the role of parliamentarians in the world towards Jerusalem and Palestine.
