Aqaba: Minister of Transport Nidal Katamine inspected the Air Navigation and Meteorology Directorate at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, emphasizing the importance of advancing air navigation services to ensure aviation safety and security.
According to Jordan News Agency, during his visit, which took place on the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting in Aqaba, Minister Katamine reviewed significant projects implemented by the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC). These projects include the radar surveillance system and the instrument landing system. The initiatives aim to bolster air navigation and safety in Aqaba, providing advanced radar coverage that meets international standards.
The ministry statement also highlighted that the minister toured the airport’s meteorological station. He stressed the necessity of upgrading monitoring equipment to deliver comprehensive meteorological services for air navigation, adhering to international requirements and best practices.
