Trade, services contribute 56pct to Jordan’s GDP in H1 of 2021

Jordan’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2021 amounted to JD14.992 billion at current prices, to which the trade and services sectors contributed 56.1 percent, according to figures compiled by the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACM).

The figures indicate that the country’s six-month GDP expanded by JD364 million from the JD14.618 billion reported in the same period of 2020. Additionally, the total number of businesses registered with the ACM stood at 34,736 with a combined capital of about JD31.883 billion.
