Trade Ministry and ITC Partner to Enhance Data Collection in Jordan’s Management Consulting Sector

Amman: The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, in cooperation with the International Trade Centre (ITC), organized a workshop titled "Data Collection and Analysis in the Management Consulting Sector" from February 1-3 in Amman.

According to Jordan News Agency, this event is part of the national strategy for the management consulting services sector in Jordan and is aligned with the UK-Jordan Trade Partnership Programme (TPP).

The ministry's statement indicated that the workshop aimed to improve the availability, quality, and transparency of foreign trade data in the management consulting sector. This initiative is expected to aid in policymaking, the development of regulatory frameworks, and support private sector decisions, especially in high value-added service sectors such as management consulting.

The sessions emphasized understanding global statistical standards, including the Balance of Payments Manual, and explored methods to define and classify management consulting services within this framework. The activities integrated both theoretical and practical elements by discussing data sources, establishment-related surveys, data collection tool design, and data quality, while aligning with international best practices and adapting to the local context.

The ministry highlighted that the event provided a platform for dialogue and coordination among national entities involved in data production, policymakers, and regulatory bodies. The workshop aimed to identify existing gaps, clarify institutional roles, and establish a practical roadmap for enhancing the production of services trade statistics in Jordan, thereby supporting the country's efforts to foster a more transparent and competitive business environment, particularly in the realm of services exports.
