Tourism Officials Strategize to Enhance Jordan’s Golden Triangle Tourism

Petra: High-ranking tourism and aviation officials convened at the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) on Thursday to outline plans aimed at revitalizing Jordan's Golden Triangle, focusing on the integration of Petra, Aqaba, and Wadi Rum to stimulate tourism traffic and support the national economy.

According to Jordan News Agency, Emad Hijazin, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, highlighted that discussions centered around four core pillars designed to achieve governance, improve air and land transport connectivity, integrate local communities into tourism products, and launch unified marketing campaigns. Hijazin noted that these efforts align with Royal Jordanian's plan to connect the triangle directly with primary source travel markets, enhancing the Kingdom's edge.

Shadi Majali, Chairman of Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), announced that new regional and international flights are scheduled to commence from Aqaba's King Hussein International Airport starting in September, supporting the initiative's goals.

Adnan Sawair, PDTRA's Chairman, described the Golden Triangle as a strategic national project that will bolster the economy and benefit local communities through joint initiatives in marketing, transportation, tourism products, and events. He emphasized that the partnership aims to improve the visitor experience, encourage longer stays, and increase tourism spending.
