Syria Announces Ceasefire and Integration Deal with SDF

Damascus: Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa announced on Sunday the signing of a ceasefire and full integration agreement between the Syrian government and the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). This agreement stipulates an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts and contact lines between the two sides, alongside the withdrawal of all SDF military formations to the east of the Euphrates as a preliminary step toward redeployment.

According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Sharaa stated during a press conference following the agreement's signing that "the Syrian state is a unified state with centralized decision-making, and state institutions will enter all Syrian geography and manage all regional affairs. As for some areas with particular characteristics, the nomination of security personnel will be from among the sons of those areas."

The agreement outlines a comprehensive and immediate ceasefire on all fronts and contact lines between Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces. In parallel, it mandates the withdrawal of all SDF military formations to the east of the Euphrates as a preparatory step for redeployment.

Additionally, the agreement provides for the immediate administrative and military handover of Deir Ezzor and Raqqa provinces to the Syrian government. This includes the takeover of all civilian institutions and facilities, with decisions issued to retain current employees within the relevant Syrian state ministries. The government has committed not to target SDF personnel or fighters and the civil administration in these provinces.

Under the terms of the agreement, all civil institutions in Hasakah province will be integrated into Syrian state institutions and administrative structures. The Syrian government will assume control of all border crossings and oil and gas fields in the area, with regular forces securing their protection to ensure the return of resources to the Syrian state.
