Swedish Embassy Unveils 2026 Business Directory to Boost Trade with Jordan

Amman:The Embassy of Sweden in Amman has officially launched the "Swedish-Jordanian Business Directory 2026." This initiative aims to promote Swedish commercial enterprises in Jordan, enhance bilateral trade, and encourage joint ventures between private-sector entities in both countries.

According to Jordan News Agency, the launch ceremony featured an open dialogue with corporate executives, where Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Eng. Yarub Qudah highlighted the importance of structured public-private consultations. These discussions are crucial for removing regulatory obstacles, improving the domestic investment climate, and fostering cross-border partnerships.

Minister Qudah presented several sovereign infrastructure projects to Swedish investors, focusing on strategic national initiatives such as the National Water Carrier Desalination Project, the National Railway Network, and the "Amra" New City Project. Additionally, he pointed to potential joint ventures related to Syrian reconstruction efforts, emphasizing their significance for regional economic recovery and urging Swedish firms to leverage their technical expertise in these projects.

Swedish Ambassador to Jordan Maria Sargren stressed the importance of long-term institutional trust, quality assurance, and commercial innovation, which are integral to Swedish business culture. These qualities, she noted, align well with Jordanian technical capabilities and local market insights.

The 2026 directory provides an overview of the Swedish economic presence in Jordan, covering sectors like healthcare, telecommunications, energy, water infrastructure, manufacturing, logistics, and consumer retail. In addition to corporate profiles and contact information, the publication offers context on trade relations, digital innovation, and cultural exchanges.

The Swedish-Jordanian Business Network, established in November 2022 during a State Visit by the King of Sweden to Jordan, operates under the Embassy's auspices. It serves as a platform for knowledge transfer and economic cooperation between the two nations.
