Representative of the communications and information technology sector in the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Haitham Rawajbeh, said strengthening Jordan’s cyber-security network would contribute to supporting the business sector and providing a safe investment environment, as an important part of the Kingdom’s security system.

In a statement on Saturday, he referred to the recent statements of of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on the importance of developing the Kingdom’s cyber security system to protect the country’s institutions from cyber incidents.

Many projects, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMSs), are subjected to cyber-attack for several purposes aimed to disrupt operations and abuse data to harm business reputation, he said, adding that exposure to cyber attacks is attributed to lack of the necessary infrastructure to protect institutions.

Pointing to a set of measures to protect institutions in a strong and effective way, he highlighted importance of training employees on data protection and storage mechanisms in a correct manner

Rawajbeh also pointed to National Cyber Security Center’s (NCSC) role in protecting official institutions and various economic and vital sectors from cyber-attacks, which have begun to increase worldwide during the recent period.
