The Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, and the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator Anders Pedersen met on Wednesday evening.
Bani Mustafa said the government appreciates the partnership between Jordan and the UN’s local offices, stressing that Jordan is committed to strengthening it in all fields. She also lauded the UN’s support to Jordan’s humanitarian and development efforts.
The Minister showcased the Kingdom’s efforts in many humanitarian issues and the major role it carries out, most notably in the Syrian refugees case, which has caused economic and social burdens over the past few years.
For his part, Pedersen lauded the deep-rooted relation between Jordan and the UN’s local offices, acknowledging the Kingdom’s effort in facilitating the organization’s work.
He also commended Jordan’s efforts in serving humanitarian issues, underlining that the UN fully supports such endeavors.
