SSC Reports Over 14,000 Beneficiaries of Unemployment Benefits in First Half of 2025

Amman: The Social Security Corporation (SSC) revealed that 14,792 insured individuals received unemployment benefits during the first half of this year, with disbursements exceeding JD10 million.

According to Jordan News Agency, the SSC detailed that since the introduction of the unemployment benefits service in September 2011 until June 30, 342,000 insurees have received benefits, with total disbursements surpassing JD315 million across 1,178,000 transactions. The SSC outlined eligibility criteria, stating that beneficiaries must have completed a minimum of 36 subscriptions before the eligibility date.

The SSC further explained that the age requirement is 60 for men and 55 for women, and applications must be submitted online. The unemployment benefit is distributed monthly for up to 3 months for those with fewer than 180 social security subscriptions. In this scenario, individuals receive 75% of their last SSC-covered salary for the first month, followed by 65% and 55% for the second and third months, respectively.

For those with 180 or more subscriptions, benefits can extend up to 6 months, with payments at 45% of the set amount during the fourth, fifth, and sixth months. The SSC noted that the maximum net unemployment benefit is currently capped at JD612.
