Amman: The Directorate of Agriculture in Southern Jordan Valley on Monday conducted a field school workshop titled “Home Horticulture Using Hydroponics.” This initiative is part of national efforts aimed at assisting farmers in adapting to climate change.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event was organized under the project “Enhancing Climate Change Adaptation in Jordan through Improved Water Use Efficiency.” This project is a collaboration between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and is funded by the Green Climate Fund.
Participants at the workshop were introduced to essential concepts in agro-ecosystem analysis and group dynamics. The event featured small group exercises, ecosystem evaluations, and discussions on agricultural challenges and solutions, with a particular focus on coping with extreme heat.
The workshop was attended by Agricultural Extension Department Head Adnan Al-Maradat, extension staff, and FAO project coordinator Rania Kafouf.
