Amman: The Ministry of Social Development and the Health Care Accreditation Council have entered into a cooperation agreement to establish a national accreditation program aimed at enhancing the standards of care homes and centers. This initiative is focused on improving service quality and ensuring adherence to health standards.
According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed by Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa and Executive Director of the council Salma Jaouni. Bani Mustafa emphasized that this agreement is a significant part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance quality assurance systems within its care facilities, aligning with international best practices. She described this as a practical step aimed at enhancing the services provided to vulnerable groups.
Bani Mustafa highlighted that the accreditation framework targets facilities serving orphans, individuals without family support, persons with disabilities, and juveniles, with an emphasis on ensuring their safety, well-being, and access to quality care. The initiative is set to initially cover 30 care homes and centers affiliated with the ministry, marking the beginning of a comprehensive framework for governance, quality control, and continuous performance evaluation. The minister expressed optimism about the measurable improvements in service delivery that this initiative is expected to bring.
The agreement is part of broader efforts to professionalize social work by establishing standards for the practice, which will enhance the quality and efficiency of services. Bani Mustafa underscored the significance of the partnership with the council, which is the national body responsible for granting accreditation, and praised its expertise in developing evaluation systems based on internationally recognized methodologies.
Salma Jaouni, representing the council, noted that the project signifies a strategic milestone in reinforcing accreditation systems within the social care sector. It aims to standardize evaluation criteria and align them with global frameworks. She added that the program will focus on developing practical and measurable assessment tools for objective performance evaluation, supporting continuous and sustainable service improvement, and ultimately enhancing the efficiency of care centers and the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
