Social Development Minister and Arab Parliament Member Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Social Services

Amman: Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa met with Khadija Hajoubi, Vice-Chair of the Social Committee in the Arab Parliament and a member of the Moroccan House of Representatives, to explore ways of enhancing cooperation and expertise exchange in social work and services aimed at target groups.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, attended by Senator Ihsan Barakat, highlighted the ministry’s commitment to safeguarding vulnerable groups, such as orphans, individuals without family support, and juveniles. Bani Mustafa detailed the ministry’s key programs, particularly those empowering women economically, aligning with national strategies to boost female workforce participation, improve living standards, and increase productivity.

Bani Mustafa also emphasized efforts to professionalize social work, noting the completion of legislative frameworks to enhance service quality. This initiative involves equipping social workers and caregivers with necessary skills and training to address the needs of various social groups.

Senator Barakat praised the ministry for its high-quality services to vulnerable communities and its initiatives to economically empower families. Hajoubi stressed the importance of cooperation in social services, highlighting the benefit of exchanging experiences and best practices to improve service delivery for those in need.
