Shdifat and Save the Children Officials Discuss Youth and Scouting Cooperation

Amman: Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdifat, emphasized the role of scouting in strengthening the value system of youth, enhancing their skills, and serving the local community during a meeting with officials from Save the Children.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting included discussions with Ahmed Alhendawi, Regional Director of Save the Children for the Middle East, North Africa, and Eastern Europe, and Dana Erekat, Director of Save the Children Jordan. Shdifat highlighted the importance of integrating scouting programs into the ministry’s plans and emphasized the ministry’s policy of openness and partnership with private sector institutions, international organizations, and civil society institutions. He expressed a desire to expand partnerships with Save the Children.

Alhendawi commended the ministry’s efforts in supporting scouting activities that provide life skills and leadership capabilities, enabling youth to take active roles in society. He highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts to activate the scouting movement.

Erekat outlined the organization’s role in implementing youth programs and projects that facilitate communication and skill development. The meeting also explored ways to enhance joint cooperation, implement training programs, and develop the skills and capacities of members in Jordan’s youth centers, as well as mechanisms to bolster the scouting movement.
