Karak:Senate Speaker Faisal Al-Fayez has condemned the terrorist attack carried out by unidentified gunmen against attendees of a funeral at Hamoud Church in Karak.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Fayez described the incident as a terrorist act and urged authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and impose the harshest possible penalties. He expressed confidence in the security agencies' ability to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
Al-Fayez emphasized that the attack was an assault on Jordan and its citizens, aiming to undermine national unity and Muslim-Christian fraternity. He highlighted the strong bonds and peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in Jordan as a model of regional and international harmony.
He called on all Jordanians to stand united against those attempting to disrupt national unity and spread hate speech. Al-Fayez praised Jordan's Hashemite leadership for promoting coexistence and humanitarian values, which have made Jordan a symbol of human fraternity.
Al-Fayez extended condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the recovery of those injured in the attack. He reaffirmed Jordan's commitment to global stability, security, and the rejection of extremism and violence.
