Senate President, EU ambassador discuss cooperation

Senate President Faisal Fayez on Wednesday met with Ambassador of the European Union (EU) Maria Hadjitheodosiou over advancing relations in all fields, mainly economic cooperation.

During the meeting, attended by president of the Senate’s Jordanian Friendship Committee with the European Parliament Nidal Qattamin, Fayez valued the deep ties between Jordan and the EU, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination towards achieving regional security and stability.

He also expressed appreciation of the EU’s supportive stances towards Palestinians legitimate rights, highlighting the Kingdom’s constants related to the Palestinian cause, in which the two-state solution is the only viable solution to end the conflict.

Hadjitheodosiou expressed the EU’s appreciation of the Kingdom’s efforts in maintaining regional security and stability. She also said that the partnership between Jordan and the EU is strategic, voicing the union’s keenness to expand cooperation in economic, trade exchange, and investment fields.
