Senate President Engages Turkish and Cypriot Envoys in Investment Talks

Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez met separately with Turkish Ambassador Yakup Caymazoglu and Cypriot Ambassador Sevag Avedissian to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation and exploring opportunities for joint investment. The discussions also covered current regional developments.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meetings took place at the Senate headquarters with the presence of Senator Yassin Hasban, head of the Jordanian-Turkish parliamentary friendship committee, and Senator Issa Ayoub, head of the Jordanian-Cypriot parliamentary friendship committee. Fayez emphasized Jordan's dedication to strengthening ties with both Turkey and Cyprus, advocating for increased economic collaboration and the activation of existing bilateral agreements across various sectors.

Fayez also addressed regional issues, reiterating Jordan's commitment, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to support security and stability. He urged the international community to enforce the Gaza ceasefire agreement, facilitate humanitarian aid to the Strip, and stop settlement activities in the West Bank.

The Turkish and Cypriot ambassadors praised Jordan's efforts, led by the King, in promoting peace and regional stability and enhancing humanitarian efforts in Gaza. They also highlighted the importance of expanding economic and investment relations, increasing trade, and activating bilateral agreements to benefit all parties involved.
