Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez met with Spanish Ambassador to Jordan, Miguel de Lucas Gonz¡lez, to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments. During the meeting at the Senate’s headquarters, Fayez highlighted that Jordanian-Spanish ties have achieved significant levels of coordination and cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in economic, investment, and parliamentary fields, as well as boosting tourist and cultural exchanges. He affirmed Jordan’s commitment, under King Abdullah II’s leadership, to enhancing joint cooperation and investments. Fayez also highlighted the King’s efforts in promoting regional peace and reiterated calls for a political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution and international law. He urged the international community to ensure Israel adheres to the Gaza ceasefire agreement and facilitates adequate humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, commending Spain’s support for Jordan’s peace initiatives.
Gonz¡lez expressed the strong relations between the two countries and reiterated Madrid’s commitment to increasing cooperation in development, economic, trade, parliamentary, and cultural sectors. He acknowledged Jordan’s role in the region and stated that enduring peace relies on a two-state solution.
