Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez emphasized the robust relations between Jordan and Korea, highlighting King Abdullah II's dedication to expanding cooperation in several sectors.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting with the Chair of the Korean-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee and its members, Fayez discussed the current state of bilateral ties and explored avenues for enhancement. He acknowledged Jordan's political and security stability but noted economic challenges arising from regional conflicts and Israeli policies.
Fayez commended Korea's contributions to Jordan's development efforts, particularly in water, health, and education sectors, and advocated for more collaborative agreements. He urged increased Korean investment and joint economic projects in tourism, transport, energy, and water sectors.
He stressed the importance of boosting tourism cooperation to attract Korean tourists, especially for religious and medical tourism. Additionally, Fayez reaffirmed the Senate's commitment to strengthening parliamentary ties and international coordination.
Addressing regional issues, Fayez highlighted the Middle East conflicts, particularly Israel's actions against Palestinians, calling for international efforts to ensure security and stability by upholding Palestinian rights. He welcomed the Gaza ceasefire and urged global support for its implementation.
Fayez reiterated Jordan's stance against policies threatening its national principles, alternative homeland proposals, and Palestinian displacement, labeling such actions as violations of international law.
