Senate Jordan-Japan Friendship League meets with Japanese envoy

Senator Nasser Judeh, president of the Jordan-Japan Friendship League in the Senate, lauded as “historical” the relationship between Jordan and Japan in various fields and at all levels.

Speaking to a league meeting with Japan’s ambassador to Jordan, Shimazaki Kaoru, Judeh discussed the on-going political consultations between the two countries, serving common issues, pointing out to King Abdullah’s keenness to encourage investment and cooperation at all levels, including education, culture and technology.

He commended Japan’s role and support for Jordan in all fields, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, and Japan’s support for Jordanian stances, especially towards the Palestinian issue, in addition to common stances between the two countries to realize a stable and secure region.

For his part, the Japanese ambassador lauded the bilateral relations and said both countries see eye-to-eye on common political issues, pointing out to Jordan’s pivotal role, under the leadership of His Majesty the King to bring peace to the region.

Members of the league, in turn, called for intensifying efforts and raising the level of coordination between the two countries, to include various possible fields of cooperation, including tourism, especially medical and religious ones, and opening up horizons for investment sectors such as industry and the digital economy.
