Senate committee meets Azeri envoy over enhancing cooperation

The Senate’s Jordanian-Azerbaijani Brotherhood Committee, headed by its Assistant President, Mufleh Rhimi, on Thursday met Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Jordan, Eldar Salimov.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in various fields, especially in parliamentary areas, according to a Senate statement.

Rhimi lauded the “distinguished” level of Jordanian-Azeri relations, especially in the economic and political aspects, thanks to Majesty King Abdullah II’s efforts and his pursuit to continue efforts and cooperation, in a bid to push ties to better levels to serve common interests.

For his part, Azeri envoy hailed Jordan’s “great and effective” role, under the King’s leadership, to establish security and stability in the region.

The diplomat also stressed his country’s interest in developing relations with Jordan, lauding their “distinguished” level.
