Senate Committee and South African Envoy Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Amman: The Senate’s Jordanian-South African Friendship Committee, led by Dr. Muwaffaq Dmour, engaged in discussions with South African Ambassador to Jordan, Tselane Mokuena, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration in various sectors including parliamentary, economic, and cultural fields, reflecting both nations’ dedication to mutual interests.

Dr. Dmour acknowledged South Africa’s actions in supporting Palestinian rights, highlighting its initiative to file a lawsuit at the International Court of Justice against Israeli actions in Gaza. He emphasized that this move exemplifies how friendly nations can contribute to justice and support rightful causes. Dmour also mentioned that these actions are in line with Jordan’s approach under King Abdullah II’s leadership, which prioritizes regional security and supports Palestinian rights.

Ambassador Mokuena reiterated the strong foundation of Jordanian-South African ties, which are built on mutual respect. She praised Jordan’s significant role in regional matters, guided by King Abdullah II, and expressed interest in broadening partnerships, particularly in parliamentary, economic, cultural, and tourism sectors. The ambassador also noted shared values between the two countries in upholding human rights and supporting just causes, with a particular focus on the Palestinian issue.
