Saudi Envoy Delivers Annual Saudi Financial Contribution to UNRWA

Amman: Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud presented a check for $2 million to the Acting Commissioner-General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Christian Saunders, on Tuesday. The check represents the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's annual contribution to support the agency's budget, programmes, and operations in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, the contribution is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing commitment, under the guidance of its leadership, to support the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people. The funds are intended to aid UNRWA's budget, allowing the agency to fulfill its humanitarian, social, educational, and health responsibilities toward Palestinian refugees, particularly given the challenging circumstances they face.

Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia's support in enabling UNRWA to execute its critical role in providing humanitarian and relief services to the Palestinian people. He highlighted the agency's contribution to alleviating the suffering of Palestinian refugees.

In response, Christian Saunders expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous and steadfast support. He noted that such contributions are vital for the agency to continue implementing its programs to serve and provide relief to Palestinian refugees.
