Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) concluded its participation in the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans), held in Berlin from September 24 to 27.

SAR’s pavilion at the exhibition witnessed the signing of several contracts, agreements, and memoranda of understanding, including a contract with Deutsche Bahn, a German company, to provide manpower and expertise for completing projects. Several agreements were also signed with prominent international entities in the field, aimed at exchanging expertise, attracting the latest technologies to the Kingdom, and localizing the industry.

The pavilion also showcased several presentations highlighting the significant development of Saudi Arabia’s railway networks. These included the use of one of the longest freight trains, the operation of one of the world’s fastest electric trains, and the operation of the world’s longest railway line using the European Train Control System (ETCS L2).

Furthermore, visitors were introduced to future services, such
as the “Dream of the Desert” train and the latest experiments with hydrogen trains in the Kingdom, representing the most advanced environmentally friendly technologies in railways.
