Saqqaf urges Singaporean businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Jordan

Minister of Investment Kholoud Saqqaf stressed the government’s support for entrepreneurial and innovative projects, by creating an incubating and attractive investment environment that enables them to compete at regional and international levels.

Saqqaf made her remarks during her participation in a panel discussion held virtually on Saturday, organized by the Jordanian Embassy in Singapore, the Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) in Singapore, and the Singaporean BIGO Technology, entitled: “Accessing the Jordanian market, and how to access the Middle East market through Jordan.”

Saqqaf called on the Singaporean business community to explore available investment opportunities in Jordan and levrage various investment advantages, and expressed the Ministry of Investment’s willingness to provide them with support and facilities to establish their projects in the Kingdom.

She said that the new investment environment law includes many competitive advantages that encourage investment in many sectors, including entrepreneurship, innovation projects, research and development, as well as providing tax and customs incentives of up to zero per cent, in addition to guarantees for investor rights that enable him to expand his investment and empower it.

She added that Jordan has highly qualified human resources in entrepreneurship, which has taken great and innovative steps and presented creative ideas in a way that serves the local market and markets in the region.

She noted that Jordan is one of the leading and remarkably successful Arab countries in entrepreneurship, as it was able to achieve an advanced rank in the virtual world after controlling half of the Arab content on the World Wide Web, and ranking first in terms of enriching and creating this content.

Saqqaf said that Jordan enjoys many competitive investment advantages, as its strategic location is considered a gateway to entering many international markets, especially the Middle East markets, in addition, Jordan is part of many bilateral free trade and investment agreements that enable the Jordanian product to reach more than 1.5 billion consumers.
