Amman: Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Ahmed Safadi, held discussions with the Algerian Ambassador to Jordan, Abdulkarim Behha, focusing on bilateral relations with an emphasis on parliamentary cooperation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi highlighted the “distinguished” nature of the Jordanian-Algerian relations, underscoring the ongoing coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He drew attention to the shared positions of the two countries on multiple issues and urged for collective efforts to address challenges facing the Palestinian cause.
Locally, Safadi emphasized the unwavering support of Jordanians for King Abdullah’s stance against any resolutions that would come at Jordan’s expense. He reiterated the commitment to support Palestinians in maintaining their presence on their homeland and advocated for a resolution that ensures Gaza’s reconstruction without displacing its residents.
Safadi appreciated Algeria’s opposition to the displacement of Gaza’s people and expressed the desire for enhanced cooperation and coordination with the Algerian National People’s Assembly to align stances in pursuit of mutual interests.
The Algerian envoy reaffirmed his country’s rejection of any proposals to displace Gaza’s residents and declared Algeria’s support for Jordan’s position. He also emphasized the need to strengthen joint cooperation to achieve shared goals.
