The Russian representative to the UN in Geneva on Thursday warned of escalation policy adopted by the United States and NATO in the Ukrainian crisis.
This approach places nuclear powers at the risk of sliding into military conflict, Gynadi Gatilov said at the disarmament conference’s general session, according to RT website.
Russia is committed to the understanding reached in the 1980s stating that “no winner in a nuclear war”, he added, recalling the Russian initiative’s basic rules stated in the five nuclear countries’ declaration disallowing for a nuclear war and arms race.
