Russia Monday reiterated its support for the two-state solution on the June 4, 1967 lines to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“We express deep concern about the recent developments in the Gaza Strip, which could lead to the resumption of a comprehensive military confrontation and further deterioration of the deplorable humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told journalists.
Zakharova added: “We affirm Russia’s principled and firm position on supporting the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution and realising the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders.
