Amman: Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Issawi on Wednesday sponsored a national celebration organized by the Manara Youth Commission and the Manara Irbid Charity to commemorate national occasions. The event took place at the Greater Irbid Municipality and was attended by Irbid Governor Firas Abu Al-Ghanam, alongside officials, lawmakers, and local community leaders.
According to Jordan News Agency, speakers at the ceremony highlighted that national occasions offer an opportunity to reflect on the Kingdom's achievements and renew the commitment to national progress. They emphasized the royal vision's focus on investing in human capital, especially the youth, who are seen as the country's primary wealth and future architects. This involves empowering young people, supporting their initiatives, and enhancing their role in development.
The speakers also reiterated His Majesty King Abdullah II's dedication to engaging with citizens, addressing their needs, and directing efforts towards projects aimed at improving public services and supporting comprehensive development. Abdullah Dhaifallah Al-Jbour, head of the Manara Youth Commission in Irbid, expressed pride in the progress achieved under Hashemite leadership. He emphasized that such celebrations reinforce national values and identity among the youth, extending congratulations to His Majesty King Abdullah II and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on behalf of the local community.
Mohammad Jaradat, speaking for Irbid residents, praised Jordan's journey of nation-building over eight decades of independence, driven by Jordanian resolve and Hashemite leadership. He noted the nation's ability to maintain security and stability despite regional challenges, reaffirming Irbid residents' loyalty to His Majesty and pride in the armed forces' sacrifices. Jaradat also highlighted His Majesty's support for the Palestinian cause and the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, which have bolstered Jordan's standing regionally and internationally.
Rana Barahmeh, principal of the Umm Salama School, expressed gratitude for the Royal Court Chief's patronage, stating it reflects royal directives to maintain engagement with communities across the Kingdom. The ceremony, moderated by Mousa Al-Naawashi, included poems and national musical performances, celebrating the Kingdom and its Hashemite leadership.
The event concluded with organizers presenting an honorary plaque to Yousef Issawi in appreciation of his sponsorship.
