Madaba: Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi attended a significant ceremony in Madaba on Saturday, marking Jordan's national occasions. The event was organized by retired military personnel at the invitation of retired Brigadier General Eid Abu Wandi.
According to Jordan News Agency, the gathering brought together retired servicemen, government officials, and community representatives to celebrate loyalty to Jordan and the Hashemite leadership. The ceremony commemorated key milestones in the country's history and achievements. It was moderated by retired Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Al-Maharmeh and attended by several notable figures, including Adviser to His Majesty King Abdullah II for Tribal Affairs Kneiaan Bluwi, Chief Islamic Justice Abdul Hafez Al-Rabtah, and Madaba Governor Hassan Al-Jbour.
Abu Wandi expressed that the gathering celebrated Jordan's national occasions in a nation that enjoys security and stability. He reaffirmed the loyalty of retired servicemen to His Majesty King Abdullah II and praised the Royal Hashemite Court for its initiatives and engagement with citizens.
Retired Brigadier General Akef Al-Abadi, speaking on behalf of the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans, emphasized the Hashemites' leadership and the determination of Jordanians. He highlighted the commitment to preserving Jordan's security, stability, and national unity, describing the Jordan Armed Forces as the cornerstone of the country's strength.
Retired Major General Imad Saliba Maayah spoke about honoring Independence Day, Army Day, and the anniversary of the Great Arab Revolt. He paid tribute to those who sacrificed for the nation and highlighted the legacy of the Great Arab Revolt under the Hashemite leadership.
Haitham Jweinat, Head of the Greater Madaba Municipality Committee, remarked that national occasions reflect the history and development of Jordan, emphasizing the principles of freedom, sovereignty, and dignity.
Daher Ahmad Amro expressed pride in both Jordan and Palestine, recalling the Battle of Karameh and emphasizing the shared responsibility of safeguarding Jordan.
First Warrant Officer Abdel Fattah Al-Hayek, representing non-commissioned officers, remembered the sacrifices of the armed forces and renewed the pledge of loyalty to the Hashemite leadership.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Basma Abu Slaih extended congratulations to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, and the people of Jordan, celebrating the anniversaries as a story of pride and sacrifice.
Mansour Al-Hawatmeh, introduced as the youngest student combatant in the 1973 Golan War, acknowledged the historic significance of the Great Arab Revolt and the contributions of the armed forces.
The ceremony featured poetry recitals celebrating the Hashemite leadership and concluded with the presentation of awards and commemorative shields. Issawi received an honorary shield from the Knights of Change Association and presented shields to distinguished figures.
