AMMAN: The international training symposium, “Coral Reef Conservation,” commenced in Amman with participation from 182 experts and delegates representing 24 countries from Africa and Asia. The event, organized by the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), aims to promote awareness and collaborate on efforts to enhance marine environment protection.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Nidal Abu Arabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Local Administration for Administrative and Financial Affairs, emphasized the symposium’s significance in fostering sustainable development and supporting communities dependent on ecosystems. He praised AARDO’s ongoing commitment to strengthening member states’ capabilities in key areas and its support for the regional office in the Middle East.
Dr. Abu Arabi highlighted AARDO’s initiatives to organize specialized training programs designed to develop skills and bolster both institutional and individual capacities.

Mohammed Hawamdeh, TAARDO’s Regional Representative for the Middle East Office, remarked on the event’s focus on reviewing best practices for coral reef protection, particularly in light of climate change and human impacts. He highlighted the organization’s efforts in enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of local workers.
