Amman: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Regent, emphasized the importance of creating an action plan for Jordan’s tourism sector to ensure the sustainability of tourism activities and to identify investment opportunities.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Crown Prince chaired meetings at Al Husseiniya Palace with industry stakeholders to discuss strategies for developing the tourism sector. He stated that the action plan should set the stage for revitalizing tourism and enhancing the experience for tourists, as noted in a royal court statement.
His Royal Highness also underscored the potential for Jordan to become a hub for medical tourism by building partnerships with the private sector. The meetings, which included Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, featured a briefing by Tourism Minister Lina Annab. She outlined the Ministry of Tourism’s plan to develop a new five-year National Tourism Strategy, focusing on various tourism segments such as health and wellness, and efforts to help the sector recover from regional instability.
Additionally, the progress of the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority’s projects was reviewed. The Crown Prince emphasized the importance of finding solutions to enhance the financial resources of the PDTRA. Furthermore, he praised the Ministry of Interior and security agencies for ensuring a safe tourism experience for visitors to Jordan.
