Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Southern and Eastern Regions Tuesday

Amman:Unsettled weather is predicted to bring scattered rain and possible thunderstorms to the southern and eastern regions on Tuesday. Gusty winds are expected to raise dust across the Badia, with cooler conditions settling over much of the country, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department.

According to Jordan News Agency, a weak spell of atmospheric instability will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies at times. Scattered showers are anticipated in parts of the south and east, while the chance of light rain will remain limited in northern and central areas during the early morning.

Westerly winds are forecasted to increase at intervals, stirring up dust in desert areas and occasionally reducing visibility. The department has cautioned motorists about slippery roads in rain-affected areas and reduced visibility from dust in the Badia. Early-morning fog may also limit visibility over the high northern mountain areas.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 24 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 22 C in West Amman, with highs of 21 C in the northern highlands and 20 C in the Sharah highlands. The plains will experience highs of 25 C, while the Badia will see temperatures around 28 C.

Warmer conditions will prevail in low-lying areas, with temperatures reaching 32 C in the northern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea, and 33 C in the southern Jordan Valley and Aqaba. Tuesday night is forecasted to be relatively cool across most regions, with mild conditions in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Wednesday, bringing moderate weather to most regions and returning temperatures to seasonal averages. Another slight increase is anticipated on Thursday, with similar conditions continuing into Friday. The Badia will become relatively hot, and hot weather will return to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
