QRCS Receives Accreditation Canada’s Platinum-Level Accreditation

Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) held Sunday morning a ceremony to honor its Medical Affairs Division staff who effectively contributed to its platinum-level accreditation by Accreditation Canada (AC).

QRCS passed the final survey at the four Workers’ Health Centers, operated by QRCS under a cooperation agreement with Qatars Ministry of Public Health (MOPH).

HE President of QRCS Yousef bin Ali Al Khater described the accreditation as a new achievement made by the Medical Affairs Division, inspired by QRCS’s long history, as well as its local and international track record.

“This international accreditation would translate into more trust from the government and other partners in QRCS’s capabilities and efficiency, through the adoption of the best practices and strategies of health care management, to ensure optimal primary health care services for the public,” His Excellency added.

Emphasizing the importance of honoring those working hard and making exceptional efforts, he urged everyone to be more creative and dedicated, in order to maintain QRCS’s leading position and good reputation in social, medical, and humanitarian arenas.

Over the past 17 months, 10 primary teams from QRCS worked to meet all requirements, which included nine standards and 891 criteria, with no external consultation. The cycle involved a readiness assessment, a simulated survey, and a final survey, with QRCS scoring 97.8 percent.

QRCS obtained 100 percent scores in Dental, Pharmacy, and Service Excellence, as well as less scores in Laboratory, radiology, Infection Control, Leadership, Governance, and Primacy Care. Other domains where QRCS scored 100 percent were quality, finance, human resources, information technology, engineering, biomedical devices, and emergency preparedness.
