Qatari Newspapers Editorials

Doha: In Friday’s editorials, Qatari newspapers highlighted several local topics, focusing primarily on showcasing the State of Qatar’s active humanitarian and diplomatic role to bring peace and stability to the region, especially the ongoing coordination between Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to address the serious consequences of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

The newspapers also noted the importance of the meeting between HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Ayman Al Safadi, which stressed the importance of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In its editorial, Al-Sharq newspaper emphasized the importance of the issues discussed during the meeting held by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, especially the efforts to de-escalate regional tensions, the collabor
ation between the two countries in addressing the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and continued work to formulate an effective international stance against Israeli actions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and the prospects for achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

In the same context, the newspaper also referenced discussions held by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater with HRH Adviser to His Majesty and chairman of the board of trustees of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation Prince Rashid bin Al Hassan, which addressed obstacles to humanitarian aid entering Gaza and emphasized Jordans important role in facilitating this aid.

The newspaper concluded by stating that the ongoing cooperation, coordination and consultation between Qatar and Jordan stem from a shared commitment to stop the bloodshed, prevent the displacement of Palestinians, and achieve security and peace in the regi

In a similar vein, Al-Watan noted that Qatar and Jordan share a close relationship based on enhancing coordination and consultation between the two countries on various issues and opening new avenues for joint cooperation.

The editorial pointed out that, given the developments related to both Arab and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause and the ongoing Israeli war against the Palestinian people in Gaza and all occupied Palestinian territories, the coordination between the two countries takes on new dimensions aimed at halting this war and pushing towards a just and comprehensive peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue.

It noted that the discussions between His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Jordanian Foreign Minister reflect the two countries’ commitment to continue working together to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to formulate an effective international stance to stop the illegal Israeli actions in the
occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

The editorial concluded by affirming that these talks will contribute positively to supporting the Palestinian people, halting the war, and ensuring that aid reaches those in need.
