Doha: Qatari newspapers highlighted Sunday HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s presiding over the State of Qatar’s delegation to the meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, which affirms Qatar’s commitment to its international obligations and its civilizational and humanitarian role in various global issues and challenges.
In another context, the Qatari dailies warned against the Israeli occupation’s ongoing bloody massacres in the Gaza Strip, with no genuine solution in sight to end this brutal aggression against the Palestinian people.
In its editorial entitled “Qatari Presence in International Forums,” Al-Arab underlined that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s foreign participations, including presiding over the State of Qatar’s delegation to the meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, affirms Qatar’s commitment to its international obligations and its civilizational and humanitarian role
in various global issues and challenges.
Noting that HH the Amir will address the opening session of the General Assembly Tuesday, Al-Arab indicated that HH the Amir’s speeches at the United Nations are characterized by high credibility in diagnosing the crises of the region and the world, and includes strategic visions and humanitarian initiatives that confirm the State of Qatars commitment to world peace and economic growth, in addition to promoting dialogue and diplomacy as the most prominent way to end wars and crises around the world.
Arab issues, most importantly the Palestinian cause, are greatly highlighted in HH the Amir’s speech at the UN. HH the Amir has always been keen to emphasize the justice of the Palestinian cause and the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to freedom, independence, and the building of their independent state, Al-Arab pointed out.
For its part, Qatari daily Al-Sharq said the annual general debate of the United Nations General Assembly will open Tuesday, during which
world leaders will deliver their keynote speeches under the theme “Leaving no one behind: acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations”.
Presiding over the State of Qatar’s delegation to the meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), HH the Amir will address the opening session of the General Assembly, Al-Sharq said.
Al-Sharq stressed the significance of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in light of the major global challenges, whether related to climate change, natural disasters, sustainable development issues, or humanitarian crises and tragedies around the world, and the serious conflicts and disputes taking place in the world, most notably the dangerous circumstances in Palestine, Lebanon and Sudan, and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
