Qatari investments in ASE at JD601 million in 2021

Qatari investments in the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) stood at JD601 million (USD$847 million) in the first nine months of 2021, ranking seventh on the list of top foreign investments.

This came in a report published Tuesday by the Qatar News Agency based on data issued by the Jordan Securities Depository Center. The report indicated that the number of Qatari-owned securities amounted to about 205 million securities in the January-September period of this year.

The volume of Qatari investments in Jordan amounts to about $4.5 billion in various sectors. Of those, about $550 million were made by the Qatari private sector.

Qatari investments in Jordan were channeled into many sectors, including real estate, tourism, hotels, banks, health, education and information technology, in addition to the industrial sector, oil derivatives and energy and electrical stations, the report said.
