Doha, Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani Friday reiterated Qatar’s support for the Hashemite Custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.
This came during a meeting held by the Qatari minister last night with the US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, who is currently visiting Doha, according to the Qatar News Agency.
Al Thani and Nuland reviewed the bilateral cooperation and relations and ways to support and develop them, especially in energy. They discussed regional and international developments, especially the Palestinian issue, the latest developments in Afghanistan and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
During the meeting, the two sides stressed the importance of creating a political climate for the Palestinian cause, returning to negotiations that would guarantee a two-state solution by the 1967 borders and stopping settlements in the occupied territories.
